On a beautiful Santa Fe evening at La Fonda on the Plaza, nearly 200 distinguished members of the Santa Fe and northern New Mexico community attended the Anchorum St. Vincent unveiling on September 13.  La Fonda was selected to honor our roots in Santa Fe as it is a truly significant site that sits at the end of the historic Santa Fe Trail.  As we looked ahead and discussed the future of health in our community, we shared our new vision and strategy as a Community Health Impact Organization, while also celebrating our 10-year partnership with CHRISTUS Health as 50% community owner of CHRISTUS St. Vincent.

Our notable speakers shared how Anchorum is one of three St. Vincent organizations working together in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico with one common goal: to improve the long-term health and well-being of our community.

Earl Potter, Board Chair of Anchorum St. Vincent and Board member of CHRISTUS St. Vincent, kicked off the event and talked about our 10-year journey, our partnership with CHRISTUS Health--our 50/50 partner who has ultimately invested over $50 million in our community.

Peter Bastone, President and CEO of Anchorum St. Vincent, unveiled the new brand, name and vision of community health impact. During his speech, he discussed how Anchorum is stepping up efforts to make Santa Fe and northern New Mexico a destination for great health. As a Community Health Impact Organization, Anchorum’s role is to be the convener and catalyst that brings together investors, non-profits, and other partners to focus on those social determinants that drive strategic health needs—then make sound, high-impact philanthropic investments that fund sustainable solutions to strengthen the threads of our community and shape a healthier future.

Randy Safady, EVP and Chief Financial Officer, CHRISTUS Health talked about the partnership between CHRISTUS Health, Anchorum, CHRISTUS St. Vincent and the hospital Foundation and how each of the organizations work together. This innovative approach to addressing urgent community needs reinforces CHRISTUS Health’s ongoing commitment to the local culture that has been an important part of our organization for the past decade.

Lillian Montoya, President and CEO of CHRISTUS St. Vincent said that our new vision marks an important milestone in building on St. Vincent’s 153-year legacy in the community. She says, together, we can truly transform our patient experience and the breadth and depth of our clinical capabilities in this exciting new chapter with Anchorum.

During the conclusion of the program, Jerry Jones, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Anchorum St. Vincent, announced that we will make an investment of $25 million over the next three years – every dollar of which will be spent to serve the people of Santa Fe and northern New Mexico. He also discussed the four strategic areas that can have the greatest health impact, which you can find here. Jerry unveiled the plans for the new office location for Anchorum, which will serve as a community convening space to bring together stakeholders and partners to address the urgent needs of the people who live and work here.

During the event, we also shared the new face of Anchorum and a photo of our new office building located across the street from CHRISTUS St. Vincent, which will open later this year and will also serve as a place for our community, where we convene sessions and bring stakeholders and partners together to address the urgent needs of the people who live and work here.

Our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who took the time to attend and hear our vision and strategy to enhance the lives of millions of residents. We believe that the Sisters of Charity, who traveled here from Ohio 153 years ago, would be proud of the work we have all done together and gratified that the mission they set out to accomplish continues to thrive today and into the future.
